Shakira Moran
Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
My commitment to teaching financial education is deeply rooted in a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in my community. From a young age, I questioned why some people seemed to have financial stability while others struggled, even when they worked just as hard—sometimes harder. Over time, I realized the gap wasn’t effort; it was access to information and understanding how money truly works.
That realization stayed with me. It shaped my education, my career, and ultimately my mission. I believe financial literacy is not a luxury—it’s a life skill, and everyone deserves clear, practical guidance they can actually apply. My approach to teaching finance is grounded in real life, real responsibilities, and real challenges, especially for families who are doing their best with limited resources.
Through my work, I aim to simplify money, remove the shame often attached to financial conversations, and empower people to make informed decisions with confidence. When individuals understand their money, they gain more than control—they gain peace of mind, options, and the ability to build a future on their own terms.
