Michael Garcia
Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
I have worked in the financial services industry for 15 years and my personal mission is to increase financial knowledge in underserved communities. I work directly with community leaders, schools, and non-profit organizations to determine their programs financial literacy needs. I have lived through and learned from multiple financial crises and remain concerned that many consumers remain inadequately prepared to manage their finances. I believe that my professional experience in financial services will give our communities the information and knowledge base needed to combat gaps in our academic system. With touchpoints on information ranging from the basics of assets and liabilities to the more complex cases of predatory lending and interest accrual, I look forward to helping bridge the gap between the idea of money and providing the actual tools needed for stronger personal monetary decision making.
