I’m excited to connect with you on a mission that’s deeply personal to me—empowering student-athletes with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to succeed in life beyond sports. As a former professional athlete, I understand the challenges and pressures that come with pursuing greatness on the field. But I also know that your potential extends far beyond the game, and preparing for life off the field is just as important as training for the next big play.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to mentorship, financial education, and career readiness for athletes like you. Through my experiences as a player, entrepreneur, and now a Certified Financial Education Instructor, I’ve seen firsthand how financial literacy, business acumen, and smart decision-making can open doors to lasting success. I want to help you build a playbook for life—one that ensures you’re not just winning in sports but thriving in your future, whether in business, real estate, or any career path you choose.
To parents, guardians, and athletic administrators: I know you want the best for the young athletes in your life. Together, we can equip them with the skills and knowledge that will set them up for generational success. Bio
Mario Urrutia is a former professional athlete, entrepreneur, and an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ dedicated to empowering student-athletes with the financial knowledge and life skills necessary for long-term success. With experience playing at the highest levels of football, including the NFL, UFL, AFL, and CFL, Mario understands firsthand the unique challenges athletes face in navigating their careers, finances, and futures beyond sports.
After his playing career, Mario transitioned into business, real estate investing, and mentorship, co-owning the Kentucky Xtreme indoor football team and founding Super Student Athletes, a nonprofit focused on helping young athletes succeed on and off the field. Through his work, he has guided countless student-athletes in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, ensuring they have the tools to make informed decisions about their futures.
Mario’s passion for education, leadership, and athlete development drives his work as a speaker and mentor. He engages audiences of high school and college athletes, parents, and athletic administrators, equipping them with practical financial strategies, business insights, and a championship mindset that extends beyond the game. His mission is simple: help athletes win in life, not just in sports.
