Mae Yang

Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Mae Yang, Financial Literacy Speaker

Personal Notes

I left corporate after 12 years of dedicating my career in the government arena. For the last 6 years of my career in the Judicial System, I helped and advocated for crime victims of fraud, scams, financial exploitation, domestic violence, assault, and vehicular homicide. It was clear to me that people needed more than just help with their cases. They needed comprehensive and holistic resources outside of what the county could provide. I recognized that the elders and domestic violence victims/survivors required more financial resources.

With my public services experience in different capacities, I discovered that there is a gap between public economic issues and the needs of different communities. Common themes that stood out are the financial challenges that the underserved communities are facing and those who are financially illiterate.

My goal is to change the way we support our communities by incorporating financial literacy programs and resources to help people overcome financial challenges. I believe financial literacy can help people stretch their vision, shift their money mindset, plan for their financial future, and make smart money decisions.
