Bio
Lay Hing de Kort-Yee is a professional whose passion is to help communities and families thrive. She believes a sure way to do that is through financial education and she is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor. As the saying goes: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. She believes in dreams, but most importantly she believes that dreams can be accomplished by the use of financial wisdom.
…and she wanted to prove just that; at the age of 29, she decided to start her own business with the desire to achieve more freedom, allowing her to spend time with her children, spouse and family. However, there is more that she wants to accomplish in her personal life, but she knows that it requires a financial plan, one that is written in the heart, the mind and on paper.
She is an advocate of financial education, she has been involved in the setting up of financial education program in the island of Aruba through the Kiwanis club of Young Professionals Aruba. The program is well-known as ‘Placa Chikito’, a local saying that means ‘small change’ or explaining something in a simplistic way. The word ‘Placa’ means money and ‘Chikito’ means little. She has been involved in giving lectures, workshops and training to various organizations.
