Jessica Merritt
Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
If you’ve ever wished someone had clearly explained credit, debt, investing, or financial trade-offs before you had to learn them the hard way, you’re not alone. After nearly a decade of writing and editing personal finance content for national publications, I’ve seen that most people aren’t lacking motivation — they’re lacking clear, unbiased financial education.
Since 2017, I’ve written and edited thousands of articles covering credit cards, loans, banking, mortgages, and everyday money decisions. I’ve interviewed experts, analyzed data, reviewed financial products, and worked behind the scenes to shape finance content strategy. What I’ve learned is that financial education works best when it’s practical, relatable, and immediately useful.
As a Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ (CFEI®), I translate financial concepts into understandable information people can use to make everyday money decisions with clarity and actionable advice, whether it’s students applying for their first credit card or homeowners navigating mortgage options.
