Héctor Martínez-Montcada
Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
My own personal path is one of Riches-to-Rags-to-Riches.
A journey like mine involved overcoming financial failures through humility, patience, perseverance, and learning introspectively from past mistakes. Becoming an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ (CFEI) is my calling to share with others how personal experiences are an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to develop greater awareness and future success.
Bio
Hector created the Montcada Foundation after 15 years of working in commercial banking, private banking, and investment banking, followed by 10 years in the e-Learning industry where Hector implemented learning projects globally.
The Mission of the Montcada Foundation is simple: to guide individuals towards a balance of financial stability and overall well-being. Often we tend to define financial education as far as content – (budgeting, saving, investing, etc.) – However, to fully utilize the content, we first need to understand the psychology of personal finance. For example, emotions, biases, and behaviors are just as strong if not stronger motivators than pure numbers for driving most financial decisions.
By taking a blended learning approach to personal financial education through one-on-one financial coaching, then designing workshops centered around common areas of interest, the Montcada Foundation works with participants towards addressing and identifying behavioral triggers such as emotional impulses and other mindsets. This in turn allows us to introduce healthier financial behaviors through conscious reflection.
