Bio

Dr. Leah Johnson is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.

Dr. Leah R. Johnson is the ninth of eleven children and owes much gratitude to her father, Rev. James A. Strickling (deceased), and mother, Mrs. Ann R. Strickling, for her upbringing in a stable, loving home with a bible-based and disciplined environment. She has been married to Calvin L. Johnson, Sr. for 36 years, and to this union, eight children were born.

Dr. Johnson is a serious educational advocate who empowers parents and guardians to understand their parental rights within the school system. She shares her 34 years of active parent involvement and student advocacy, teaching parents how to employ effective parenting strategies to lead their school-aged children on successful academic journeys.

Dr. Johnson launched the Elite Publishing Company in May 2014, and released her first book, No More White Flags! – 25 Parenting Strategies for Successful African American Students, in June 2014. Johnson has three earned degrees—a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Finance; a Master’s degree in Organizational Management; and a Doctorate degree in Education, with an emphasis in Leadership and Change. All programs were completed with a 4.0 GPA, which resulted in many academic awards and recognition.

While assisting hundreds of families that met with numerous educational challenges , Dr. Johnson was constantly met with common problems–families’ deficiency of financial resources for everyday provisions; parents without pensions or retirement plans; children experiencing academic disparities; lack of financial resources for college tuition, food, clothing, and other educational expenses. Due to the scarcity of financial literacy for “everyday people” and knowledge regarding savings accumulation, Dr. Johnson, who is life/health licensed in 23 states, has led many efforts, which provided financial literacy and leadership to several organizations.
