Bio
Sandra Buckner is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor℠.
Sandra has worked with underserved populations since 1999 to address the financial illiteracy epidemic. She created a self-directed credit management program called the “BUDDIT System – Budgeting and Credit Working in Partnership” that helps individuals remove more than $500,000 of personal credit card debt through negotiation, disputation and/or repayment. Through this process, many who would never have been able to save money developed a savings habit and began to take control of their finances, which were previously out of control.
In 2001, Sandra was selected to be a member of the Individual Development Accounts Standards and Criteria Committee of the Corporation For Enterprise Development (CFED). While Administering the Cleveland IDA Program she was responsible for the management and oversight of the programs $3.5 million (federal, state, local and participant funds) budget. She was responsible for grant management and reporting to funders. She developed the policies, procedures and processes for both the Cleveland IDA Program and the Key Bank Financial Education Center, whose focus is wealth creation in communities where resources are depleted or severely lacking. In 2004, Sandra drafted the financial education curriculum currently being used by the Key Bank Financial Education Center in Cleveland, OH, and served as workshop facilitator in areas of credit management, budgeting, goal setting and functioned as a Financial Management Coach for accounts holders and workshop participants.
In 2014 Sandra became the Owner and President of SLB Consulting; a sole proprietorship which offers workshops on personal financial wellness, start-up nonprofit administration and board development. Sandra is a volunteer in her community because she believes that it is important to give back to those who need assistance in making their goals reality.
