Pamela Setufe, Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes

I believe everyone has the potential to be successful in managing their money, and financial literacy is a key life skill that we must all possess. Throughout my own journey of becoming financially literate, I realized that many people I worked with struggle with understanding basic financial concepts, and even taking advantage of company sponsored benefits. Seeing the negative impact that this lack of knowledge had on individuals and families, I was inspired to become a financial education instructor to empower others with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve financial well-being, and to successfully navigate the complex world of personal finance. I am passionate about teaching financial education because, I find it immensely rewarding and a joy to witness the transformation of individuals overcoming financial challenges, becoming financially independent, and ultimately achieving their dreams.

Bio

Pamela S. Setufe is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor. She is a firm believer of the biblical verse that says, “to whom much is given, much is required.” That is why after seeing the need for financial education at her workplace and in her community, she co-founded The WiseAnt Group, LLC to help individuals and families ditch debt, save money, and start building generational wealth. She is also the CEO & Founder of Dream Today, a non-profit dedicated to promoting literacy and equity in education and healthcare for children and women in impoverished communities in Africa.

Pamela has over 17 years of experience in healthcare administration, with her most current role as the Chief Compliance Officer of a large Medical Group in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout her career, Pamela coached, mentored and trained many employees, and also contributed to their personal and professional growth & development. To Pamela, the benefits of these trainings and coaching were not all one way. She gained a greater understanding of the financial and emotional challenges her colleagues faced when it comes to major changes in their lives, or even saving and planning for their retirement. She related not only to these challenges, but also to the apparent lack of impactful educational programs and tools available to help them make informed financial decisions.

As a passionate advocate for financial literacy and education, Pamela has made it her mission to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve financial wellness. With a unique blend of expertise, creativity, and a friendly approach, she has become a trusted resource in the realm of personal finance for her colleagues and community. Recognizing that everyone learns differently, she employs innovative teaching methods and develops engaging materials to make complex financial concepts accessible to individuals from all walks of life. By utilizing real-life examples and interactive activities, she brings financial literacy to life, making it both informative and enjoyable for learners of all ages.

Pamela’s deep understanding of the financial landscape is fueled by her continuous pursuit of knowledge and professional development. She keeps abreast of the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that her guidance is always up-to-date and relevant. This commitment to staying informed allows her to provide accurate and reliable information to those seeking guidance. However, it is Pamela’s friendly and approachable nature that truly sets her apart. She understands that discussing personal finances can be overwhelming and intimidating for many individuals, but she effortlessly puts people at ease with her warm and welcoming demeanor. By fostering an environment of trust and open communication, she creates a safe space for individuals to ask questions, seek guidance, and embark on their journey towards financial empowerment.

Pamela is looking forward to collaborating with individuals, various organizations of all sizes, educational institutions, churches, and other community groups to develop and deliver financial literacy to their employees, members, teams or clients. Through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one consultations, her goal is to help equip individuals and families with the tools they need to make informed financial decisions.

Pamela holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Trinity University, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration-Finance Concentration and Economics (double major), with an International Studies Minor from Truman University. In 2020, she was honored to become a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, popularly known as Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). With a thirst for knowledge and continuous improvement in her career, Pamela is also a Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) and a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). As a way of giving back, it is Pamela’s joy to help others achieve their dreams, as they work towards greater financial wellness.
