Hey there! My name is Marn and I am the Financial Specialist for IMC Financial Consulting. Growing up, I always pictured finance as stocks and people in business suits. However, the more I am being exposed to the world of finance and money, I begin to embrace how personal it is and how it can really impact someone’s life. Thus, as I am growing in my expertise, I am determined to utilize my skills and knowledge to educate and empower people from all kinds of backgrounds, to glorify God and love people.
Bio
Marn Hoe Chong is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.
Marn Hoe Chong grew up in Malaysia and transferred to Samford University, AL in Fall 2016. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Finance degree. At Samford University, Marn Hoe was part of the Bulldog Fund for the Spring semester which manages approximately $2.2 million of the university’s endowment fund. With 10 other fund managers, the fund actively researches stocks and market trends and they successfully beat the S&P 500 benchmark during their tenure.
Marn interned with IMC Financial Consulting in Spring 2018. He learned more about the company and its vision throughout his time there and decided to join the team full-time in June 2018. As a Financial Specialist at IMC, Marn works closely with the CEO to and is responsible for a wide array of financial duties including but not limited to research on different investment opportunities, performing financial statements analysis, business modeling for small businesses etc.
During his time at Samford, Marn was also a Resident Assistant and Samford Ambassador which really helped him grow personally and professionally. His involvement with freshman truly shaped his leadership skills and being an Ambassador truly taught him the meaning of service and humility. He is currently serving on the Samford Young Alumni Board to connect with alums and serve them.
Passionate and driven, Marn hopes to add value to the company and its clients by continuing to learn and grow his skill-sets as well as financial proficiency in the industry. He also looks forward to continue serving the community at the best of his capacity, through financial education and committing his time and resources for the greater good.
