Personal Notes

We’ve all heard the phrase “money can’t buy happiness” right? Although that’s metaphorically true…money can serve as an exceptional tool when funding your desired lifestyle. Which, of course, would make you happy. As a Certified Financial Education Instructor, I understand the power that simple mental shifts can make when transitioning from one financial mindset to another. My goal is to help you transition away from simply regurgitating financial cliches to developing and embracing your own financial path. We achieve this collaboratively by understanding your goals and then curating a personalized financial plan filled with actionable tasks to help you stay focused and gradually adopt healthy behavior habits. So, when it comes to your finances, toss away those generic cliches and work with someone that puts your aspirations first.

Bio

Financial Literacy Instructor, Advocate, Entrepreneur, Author and NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor. Money may not buy happiness; however, money can help provide your desired standard of living. With this in mind, Godfrey Aguwa Jr.’s mission is to provide ‘real-life’ financial education that individuals can immediately apply to create the lifestyle that they envision. Like many individuals, Godfrey’s relationship with money was learned from his environment. But not just from those within his household. Magazines, tv, music videos, etc. all played a role in shaping how he viewed money. Yet, despite taking two financial education classes before graduating from high school (one in elementary and the other in high school), Godfrey felt the information was just too generic, vague, and/or confusing as to how to actually apply it into his current situations. However, like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, his frustration metamorphosed into a passion to not only learn about finances but deliver it in such a way that anyone could feel confident taking immediate action. His unquenchable passion coupled with an intense entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to found two financial education businesses (Freedom Beyond Wealth and Dollars & Cents University) as well as a nonprofit, DCU Next Generation, which provides financial literacy initiatives throughout under-served communities. Godfrey has authored multiple blog articles, courses, curricula, books (both children and adults), prototyped a couple of fintech apps, and is currently producing a podcast. As an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor, he is armed with the best teaching skills, furthering his confidence and ability to provide education that leads to tangible results.
