Dedra Porter
Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
Our organization was founded to help eliminate the systemic cycle of financial inexperience. There is a generational breakdown of financial education in our families, the work place and our communities. At LALA Nonprofit, which stands for, Leave A Legacy Always, we want to help eliminate this tragedy of financial unawareness. We have over two decades of experience in Payroll and HR. We begin our educational process with a better understanding of paychecks, and the paycheck stubs. We expand on budgeting, debit vs. credit and conduct a host of fun interactive activities to aide in the financial education process.
Bio
Dedra Porter is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.
I have been a payroll professional for over two decades and a certified payroll professional with the American Payroll Association. I became extremely discouraged when my organization laid people off due to COVID and 90 percent of the workforce did not understand how to read their payroll check stubs. I got the idea to start LALA Nonprofit to help others learn how to read their taxes and deductions from their check stubs and how to leave a legacy through payroll deduction as well.
