Alimursal (Ali) Ibrahimov, CFEI®, is a financial analyst, educator, and researcher dedicated to building financial literacy infrastructure where it matters most. He serves as a Financial Analyst II at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, supporting budget strategy and financial reporting across multiple academic units. This role gives him a detailed understanding of how financial decisions shape programs, opportunities, and long-term outcomes. Drawing on this analytical background, he translates complex financial concepts into clear, practical tools for everyday people.
Ibrahimov is the founder of LearnTheMoney, a financial literacy initiative that designs and delivers research-based, practical financial education programs for students, community members, and justice-involved individuals. His work includes community bootcamps, campus workshops, and classes inside the Nueces County Jail, where he focuses on essential skills such as budgeting, managing debt, understanding credit, saving, and planning for life after release. One of LearnTheMoney’s flagship programs, “Second Chance Money Skills,” was named the global winner of the “Closing the Gender Gap” category at the 2026 Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards (MAIAs), a prestigious, internationally recognized awards program that receives entries from more than 40 countries and is judged by a panel of leading financial literacy experts.

Academically, Ibrahimov is a PhD candidate in Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Design and Educational Technology) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where his research focuses on how to design learning experiences that are accessible, engaging, and effective for diverse adult learners. Simultaneously, he is completing a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance at Harvard University, integrating advanced finance with evidence-based pedagogy to close the gap between research and practice. He holds the Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) credential from the National Financial Educators Council, reflecting his commitment to top-quality standards in financial education.
Ibrahimov’s approach is informed by behavioral psychology and storytelling as well as data. He was selected as one of only about 20 scholars worldwide to attend Stanford’s Financial Literacy Research Boot Camp and has delivered a TEDx talk on how financial literacy, behavior, and narrative intersect in people’s real-life decisions.
