Ashley Miller
Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
Personal experiences shape young people into adults with specific thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. My personal experience includes being raised in a low-income household aware of the confusion and lack of education towards money that existed amongst my parents, my grandparents, and other family members. I never saw financial stability, but I was expected to succeed financially. That is something I never understood: why is it that we know that babies learn to walk by mimicking what they see, but many of us haven’t yet acknowledged that the same applies to financial literacy? Today, many young people still grow up in households similar to that of my own; they do not have the chance to witness financial success or financial freedom. That is what fuels my passion. My current knowledge is based on years of practice, years of study, and a lifetime of trial and error. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance, I instantly immersed myself in this field. Now, I teach what I know students need to learn. I teach what I know will benefit the lives and families of my students. I teach because I care about uplifting people to become the best versions of themselves, and I teach because I know this education will make a difference!
