Community Champion: Alison McQueen
In her personal life as well as her professional career, Community Champion Alison McQueen’s trustworthiness, communicative prowess, and empathy shine through daily. A skilled negotiator, McQueen is dedicated to removing clients’ stress and pressure from real estate transactions. Her former training and experience in psychology afford her the unique ability to help clients uncover, highlight, and reach their honest financial goals.
With poise and polish, Alison takes her clients on a journey to reaching their personal finance goals using a six-ingredient recipe: empathy, diligence, experience, intelligence, strategy, and negotiation. Her unique background and commitment to consumer empowerment combine to make her a real champion of New York communities, and a powerful advocate for the National Financial Educators Council’s mission.
Personal Statement
As a business owner in the financial sector who is passionate about consumer advocacy and education, my values strongly align with those of the New York Financial Educators Council. Themes throughout my career have been education, advocacy, business development, and leadership. In addition to my work as an associate broker, I volunteer my time to teach monthly seminars to first-time home buyers. I’ve developed materials and curriculum that empower attendees to become discerning purchasers.
My career has spanned multiple disciplines, including music performance, psychology, education, and now real estate. I’ve built and developed three businesses by focusing on my core values of communication, advocacy, integrity, and accuracy. I have learned through my diverse pursuits that when people understand their options and the pros and cons of decisions – before finding themselves in a pressured emotional state – they are emboldened to make better choices for themselves.
I’ve gained a hard-earned reputation as a trustworthy advocate and effective negotiator in the competitive, fast-paced New York City residential real estate industry. As a native New Yorker, I am honored and delighted to help foster financial wellness among my NYC neighbors and in communities throughout New York state.
