A Passion for Reliable, Judgment-free Financial Education: Sarah Brady
For Sarah Brady, financial education isn’t a job; it’s a calling. In her early career, Sarah ran several after-school programs. However, it wasn’t until 2013, when she became an NFCC-certified credit counselor and a HUD-certified housing counselor, that Sarah discovered her passion for financial education.
Since then, Sarah has counseled thousands of households and taught financial literacy workshops all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work has included serving as a contracted financial educator for the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing, the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, and the San Francisco LGBT Center.
For the past nine years, Sarah has also been a money and credit writer for dozens of national publications and brands. She’s written for Experian, SCORE, Forbes Advisor, Kiplinger, and more, and she’s also appeared as a Finance Expert on PBS NewsHour.
Now Sarah is expanding on her experience in childhood education and financial literacy by joining the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC) Advisory Board. Sarah has witnessed firsthand how badly the public needs access to reliable and judgment-free financial education, and she’s thrilled to support the work of the NFEC and its California chapter, the CFEC.
