Clear, Approachable Financial Education That Inspires Practical Action: Craig McKinnis

Craig McKinnis is an author, financial education advocate, and creator of Get Good at Money – A Beginner's Guide to Investing, a beginner-focused financial education platform designed to make investing easier to understand and less intimidating. His work emphasizes clarity, simplicity, behavior, and practical action for people who may feel overwhelmed by traditional financial language or unsure where to begin.

As an Advisory Board Member, McKinnis's goal is to help expand access to practical financial education and encourage more people to build the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed financial decisions. He is particularly interested in reaching college students, first-time investors, working adults, and communities that have historically had limited exposure to approachable investing education.

McKinnis is uniquely positioned to contribute to this effort because his educational approach begins with the learner rather than the terminology. Through his book Get Good at Money: A Beginner's Guide to Investing and his Money Ministry media platform, he translates investing and personal finance concepts into plain language, connects financial behavior with mindset and decision-making, and encourages people to move from uncertainty toward informed action. His work is built around the belief that financial education should be understandable, welcoming, and useful to people regardless of where they are starting.

His service on the Advisory Board also supports a broader mission: helping financial education become a practical part of everyday life. McKinnis plans to contribute through public education, community outreach, speaking engagements, media conversations, and collaboration with schools, colleges, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and other groups working to improve financial wellness.

"It is an honor to serve on the Advisory Board and contribute to a movement focused on expanding financial capability," Craig McKinnis comments. "I want to help make financial education feel accessible to people who have spent years believing investing or money management was too complicated for them. When people gain clarity, they can begin making decisions with greater confidence and purpose.
