Established as a nonprofit in 2017, Relay offers financial education, scholarships, and college readiness programs to Texas students and families, helping them surmount systemic barriers to higher education and empowering upcoming generations. Through initiatives like the Financial Literacy (FINLIT) Summit and the 250 Momentum campaign, the organization equips families with practical financial literacy tools and readiness to seize educational opportunity – strengthening Texas communities in the process.
Company History
Lottia Fredo dedicates her career to empowering students and families to achieve educational and financial success. As a Regional Director of Financial Aid with over 20 years of experience in higher education and the founder of Relay: Heroes Today, Leaders Tomorrow, Fredo has built a platform that equips students and families with the resources, guidance, and financial literacy tools needed to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
Through initiatives like the Financial Literacy (FINLIT) Summit and the 250 Momentum Campaign, Fredo has expanded the reach of financial wellness programs across the DFW Metroplex and beyond. Her work combines hands-on expertise in higher education with a deep personal commitment to supporting first-generation students and their families.

Community Service Gratitude for Relay: Heroes Today, Leaders Tomorrow
Relay: Heroes Today, Leaders Tomorrow has donated generously to the financial wellness cause by providing educational resources and advocacy across the state of Texas and beyond. As a result of this benevolence, the Texas Financial Educators Council becomes better prepared to achieve its objectives of reaching more Texas families with essential financial education.
With this funding, the TFEC has been able to offer complimentary curriculum and awareness-raising resources to beneficiaries – including organizations, schools, and families – across the Lone Star State. The donations also empower us to launch awareness-raising campaigns, forge strategic partnerships, and take our initiatives to scale statewide.
Lottia Fredo’s financial education campaigns center around strengthening community resilience, building connections, and raising people’s confidence to make the qualified financial decisions that will secure their futures. Fredo embodies all these qualities in her own community service as well as her professional enterprise.
