Personal Finance Expert Prosperous Athletes
Welcome to the Prosperous Athletes Community! The purpose of Personal Finance Expert Prosperous Athletes is to teach financial principles and provide career awareness to high school and collegiate athletes by equipping them with tools, resources, and solutions that will sustain them beyond the arena of athletics. Our financial education programs promote basic concepts that prepare athletes to become confident stewards of their resources, which in turn enables them to become financially independent and secure.
Our career awareness program provides athletes with sustainable options they can pursue beyond the arena of sport. Over the course of their athletic careers, student athletes develop valuable skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, organization, and time management that are readily transferable to all professions. Using a variety of resources and services, community champion organization Prosperous Athletes helps athletes build financial acumen and pursue career and professional development strategies that support their transition from the arena to a new life chapter.
Company History
Having overcome his own financial pitfalls early in life, Marlon Green achieved his Undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Houston Baptist University and an MBA in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Houston Downtown. As a student athlete himself, Marlon learned the value of teamwork, communication, collaboration, leadership, discipline, and resilience. As an Accounting and Finance professional, Marlon gained more than 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas, Chemical, Consulting, and Insurance industries.
It was Green’s experience and passion for paying it forward that inspired him to obtain his credentials as a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) through the NFEC. He founded Prosperous Athletes with the goal of raising awareness about personal finance in his community and becoming an advocate for financial wellness. As the company CEO, Marlon’s mission is to provide comprehensive financial literacy programming that empowers current and former athletes to take control of their financial destinies.
As a member of the Texas Financial Educators Council’s Advisory Board, Marlon shares information to empower and equip Texas communities with life skills that allow them to design their own financial pathways and pursue the lives they deserve.

The generous donations of financial education resources made by Prosperous Athletes have helped empower the Texas Financial Educators Council to expand its reach and achieve its mission. The Prosperous Athletes financial wellness initiative helps inspire Texans from all backgrounds and age groups to seize control of their own financial futures.
