Community Champion Organization
Personal Finance Expert College Money Habits
In addition to offering cutting-edge financial education for youth and young adults, Personal Finance Expert College Money Habits contributes to the economic empowerment of whole Georgia communities. The organizational platform is unique in that it was developed by students and recent graduates who have encountered and conquered the financial challenges young people face across the country.
Led by its founder Obioha Okereke, College Money Habits tells true stories from college students about the lessons they’ve learned that helped them address their most pressing personal finance questions. The organization places particular emphasis on reaching students and underserved communities. But individuals and community groups from all demographics can benefit from the financial wellness initiatives College Money Habits sponsors across the Peach State.

Company History
At College Money Habits (CMH), we believe that financial literacy is a lifelong skill – one that empowers individuals to make informed, confident money decisions. Founded by Obioha “Obi” Okereke, our mission is to demystify personal finance by providing engaging education through storytelling and actionable strategies.
Since 2020, College Money Habits has been dedicated to helping students, young professionals, and underserved communities build strong financial foundations. From budgeting and credit management to investing and wealth-building, we break down complex financial concepts into relatable, easy-to-follow guidance that meets people where they are.
Through workshops, digital content, partnerships, and hands-on financial literacy programs, we’ve helped thousands of individuals improve their financial habits, increase savings, start investing, and take control of their financial futures. Our approach blends practical advice with real-life experiences, making personal finance both accessible and inspiring.
In partnership with Seattle-based non-profit Byrd Barr Place, CMH launched a holistic financial education program in 2023. Through this interactive and comprehensive program, Obi has been able to help individuals open brokerage accounts and start investing, pay down debt, and overcome financial anxiety.
At College Money Habits, we’re not just teaching financial literacy – we’re building a movement toward financial independence and generational wealth. College Money Habits’ founder, Obioha Okereke, emphasizes transparency and uses personal stories of successes and failures to create a fun, engaging environment that fosters learning. Obi looks forward to continuing to educate individuals and families in Georgia to enable them to build more secure futures.
