Company History
A company is only as strong as its executive leadership, and founder and CEO of 5-Star Empowerment Melissa Weathersby epitomizes strength as a business and community leader. Raised at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Weathersby’s professional career has encompassed management, entrepreneurship, and adult education. In 2019, she was accepted into Forbes Coaches Council, an invitation-only community for leading business and career coaches. Melissa was vetted and selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of her experience. Criteria for acceptance include a track record of successfully improving business growth metrics, as well as personal and professional achievements and honors.
Previously, she was a recipient of the Who’s Who in San Antonio Top 100 Women honor, as well as the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award for higher education. She is an international author and highly sought-after empowerment teacher, speaker, and radio and television guest. She is also an ordained Apostle and Pastor who wears a prophetic mantle. Her passions are teaching, motivating, and inspiring others to become the people God intended them to be.
Weathersby earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Management) from Southwest Texas State University, her MBA (Management) from Webster University, and her Doctorate of Education degree with a specialization in Higher Education and Adult Learning from Walden University. Her dissertation project, “The Need for Financial Literacy in Higher Education,” represents another avenue of service. She is a financial literacy advocate and successfully lobbied for HB 399 which mandates four-year public colleges in Texas to provide personal financial training to their students.
Melissa Weathersby founded 5-Star Empowerment to bring her two decades of experience in team-building and management to bear on developing the elite professional leaders of the 21st century. Through consulting, coaching, and business mentorship, the company helps individuals and organizations design success for their visions.
