Personal Statement

For nearly two decades, I’ve navigated the complex world of finance as a professional accountant, a career that has sharpened my technical expertise in budgeting, tax strategy, and fiscal planning. But while my job involved balancing ledgers, my heart was always focused on balancing lives. My true passion isn’t just in crunching numbers, it’s in the profound sense of stability and freedom that sound financial footing provides. I became a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) not merely to teach, but because I saw a chasm between the financial knowledge I held and the desperation felt by those who didn’t. This career path wasn’t just a choice, it was a calling born out of a deep-seated conviction – that everyone deserves to understand how money works, how to make it work for them, and how to stop it from being a source of constant anxiety. I carry the precision of an accountant with the zeal of an educator, committed to transforming financial fear into financial confidence and empowering individuals and communities to thrive through financial equity and education.

The Moment I Knew, Turning Despair into Dedication

The need for financial education isn’t an abstract concept to me, it’s a palpable, emotional reality I’ve witnessed countless times in my accounting career. I’ll never forget the group of single mothers I volunteered to help with basic financial planning. They came to the session utterly overwhelmed, which reminded me of a time when I was a single mother myself, needing the guidance and direction to be able to push forward. This understanding brings me so much closer to the people I serve and knowing that my calling is to help others.

Connecting My Mission to the Campaign

My personal history and my passion are now formally channeled through Transformation Circle, the organization I founded to carry out this mission of financial empowerment. Leading this organization in Arkansas is what allows me to translate my personal heartache over financial struggles into widespread community action. Transformation Circle is the vehicle, driven by my expertise as an accountant and CFEI, that allows me to pursue my goals of breaking down financial barriers, making complex concepts accessible, and inspiring transformative financial growth. Through our hands-on workshops and personalized programs, we are actively achieving my deepest aspiration: to equip individuals and families with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to take control of their financial futures. Leading this campaign in Arkansas is giving me the chance to reach people before it’s too late. I hope to add value to people’s lives and make a real difference, building a community where financial freedom is a possibility for all, not just a dream for a few.
