Community Champion: Joseph R. Chiarella
Joseph R. Chiarella balances his substantial technical skill in risk management with high-quality customer service and compassion, a unique combination that makes him a true community champion – not just in his hometown Vero Beach, Florida, but all across the country. When he is not busy with the demands of his complex insurance industry career, Joseph volunteers for local initiatives aimed at empowering communities with greater financial well-being.
Closely aligned with the NFEC mission, Joseph educates next-generation risk management professionals at the Sihle Insurance University and offers trusted mentorship and entrepreneurial guidance through his community service endeavors. In his personal as well as his professional pursuits, he is known for his empathy, communication skill, and approachability, highlighting his strong contributions to the financial wellness movement.
Personal Statement
Throughout my career, I have worked with some of the largest national retail insurance agencies which provided extensive training in policy audits and risk mitigation.
I quickly learned that bigger is not necessarily better, as these large agencies typically place revenue over relationships and prioritize sales results over industry knowledge.
After partnering with The Sihle Insurance Group in 2019, I was tasked with the development of Sihle Insurance University. Through this endeavor, I provide education and mentorship to the next generation of insurance agents. In my role as a Commercial Risk Advisor, I can provide quality service, technical skill, and compassion for my clients, which are located across the country. As an Equity Partner, I can take ownership of my hard work and make executive decisions as needed.
Participating in this campaign will allow me to reach more insurance professionals and business owners who may need some additional guidance, education, or mentorship.

Joseph advocates for risk management solutions in his native Vero Beach and around the state of Florida.
