Earning your CFEI® certification is the first step toward receiving a fully funded, turnkey financial education program at no cost.

State Chapter Stipend Training- Refundable Deposit Terms & Teaching Requirement

To confirm your commitment to student outcomes and program completion, a $147 refundable deposit is required upon enrollment in the Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ (CFEI®) training program. There are no ($0) annual renewals – to maintain credentials after year 3, there are ongoing training and testing requirements that may require an investment.

Refund Eligibility Requirements
To support your success and encourage real-world application of your training, a $147 refundable deposit is required upon registration. You may qualify for a full refund by completing the steps below:

Step 1: Graduate the CFEI® Training

  • Complete the Certified Financial Education Instructor℠ (CFEI®) training program within 6 months of registration.
  • Certification is awarded upon successful completion of the coursework and final exam.
  • The CFEI credential is valid for 3. In year 3, there is a recertification test investment required. This may be waived for select participants.
  • Upon graduation you will gain full access to a turnkey financial education program that includes comprehensive curriculum, assessments, promotional resources, funding tools, and more.

Step 2: Teach a Financial Education Class

To receive a refund of your deposit, you must conduct a qualifying class and submit documentation within 6 months of earning your certification.

Conduct a Training Program

  • Teach at least one financial education class, delivered in person or online.
  • Provide instruction to a minimum of 10 participants.
  • Each participant must complete at least 10 total hours of training.
  • All instruction must be delivered directly by a Certified Financial Education Instructor℠.

Submit Documentation

  • Complete and submit the CFEI® Program Outcomes Report Template (provided upon certification).
  • Your report must include:

    • A brief description of your training
    • Verified program outcomes
    • At least 2 photos from the class (or screenshots for virtual sessions)
  • All documentation must be submitted within 6 months of certification.

Step 3: Receive $147 Credit Upon Successful Verification:

  • Your $147 deposit will be refunded in full through PayPal.
  • You’ll also gain:
