Designing Scalable, Adaptable Financial Wellness Programming: Jervis Hough

My involvement on the Georgia Financial Educators Council Advisory Board is driven by a clear goal: to ensure that high‑quality financial literacy resources are accessible to every student in the state, regardless of economic background or educational setting. Whether partnering with external educators or programs, I remain committed to empowering young Georgians with the foundational financial concepts that underpin lifelong economic well‑being.

My commitment to financial education comes from personal experience. I’ve seen how growing up without basic money skills can limit life choices, and how the right guidance can truly change someone’s path. That belief – that students need more than classroom theory and must learn real‑world money management – drives my efforts to make practical financial training accessible to all.

My professional trajectory in operations management, municipal finance underwriting, and regulatory compliance positions me well to convene policymakers, educators, and community stakeholders toward achieving financial wellness goals. I have served on compliance and advisory boards for both the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) and FINRA, and currently sit on the Board of Directors of NextPlat (NASDAQ: NXPL) and the NAAIA Foundation. By employing collaborative frameworks and data‑driven best practices, I aim to design and implement scalable, adaptable programs tailored to diverse learning environments throughout Georgia.

I am honored to serve on the State of Georgia Advisory Board for the National Financial Educators Council and anticipate collaborative engagement with fellow board members to enhance financial literacy initiatives throughout educational institutions and communities statewide. The contributions I intend to make include providing guidance for program development, facilitating stakeholder participation, and implementing evidence‑based methodologies designed to equip students with the requisite competencies and self‑efficacy necessary for long‑term financial stability.
