Company History

Born and raised in Louisiana, Ellis Cropper enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately post-high school graduation at age 18, with the belief that military service was his chosen path. Across his 34-year Army career, he spent 22 years in active service before undertaking a teaching role as Assistant Professor of Military Science at Widener and Villanova Universities. Cropper relocated to Massachusetts after retiring from the Army to attend Worcester State University, where in 1996 he earned his BS in Biology with a focus on Nuclear Medicine Technology. He is currently completing his MBA at Nichols College in Dudley, MA.

Ellis developed his passion for teaching financial literacy after retiring from the Army as a Reserve Officer. That was when he came to understand that true freedom comes with financial freedom. Money affects every aspect of life, and Cropper’s view is that our country will not move in the right direction until more of its citizens achieve financial stability. Financial stability frees people to become active in the world and spark positive change – setting the stage for equity and progress.

Ellis Cropper’s credentials as a ChFC®, CLTC®, and Registered Agent with New York Life qualify him to offer a variety of products and services that assist people and business owners to achieve financial stability. Now he is expanding into the financial wellness arena to bring resources and education to his own community and communities around Massachusetts. As part of this effort, in the 2023 school year he began teaching financial literacy to third, fourth, and fifth graders at Vernon Elementary School in Worcester, with plans to expand this school-based money education to middle and high schools in the future. One of his long-term goals is to help his alma mater offer scholarships to college students studying to enter the financial services sector.

When more people are able to achieve financial stability, that’s when this country will see the change it needs to start moving in the right direction. Greater equity in financial stability means people can afford to become active in the world to change things that have an impact on their lives.
