Spotlight: Money Mentor Group & Alissa Locke

Financial service industry veteran, coach, and NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor Alissa Locke helps people take control of their finances.

Goals

As a Financial Coach, I work with clients to educate, encourage and empower them to take control of their finances. I help individuals, couples and business owners to replace their financial stress with financial confidence by first helping them understand their beliefs and emotions around money, then focusing on improving their money behaviors. My goal is to improve the financial lives of my clients by helping them pay off debt, improve their credit, build an emergency fund and build a strong financial foundation by getting control over their saving and spending.

Motivation

In my prior careers in the mortgage industry and again in the insurance and financial services industry, I saw firsthand the number of people that had very little financial knowledge, causing them to make some significant financial mistakes with long term negative consequences. Had they had access to financial education, their lives and the lives of the next generation could have been greatly improved.

Money Mentor Group

My program curriculum currently focuses on helping people understand their money mindset and money behaviors. I work with individuals, couples and small business owners both in group settings and one-on-one coaching. I have several assessments and exercises I do with my clients and workshops attendees to help them discover their personal financial ‘health’ and level of financial understanding so that we can monitor their progress.

Strengths

Having worked my entire career either as a self-employed person or as an employee on commission, I am uniquely qualified to work with people who struggle with fluctuating income. I also worked in the financial industries for many years and saw the impact on people of not having financial education and good financial behaviors. At Money Mentor Group, we coach our clients by helping them understand WHY they do WHAT they do with their money so that their new and improved financial behaviors can be sustained over their lifetime.

Challenges

As a Financial Coach, the question I get asked most often is this: How can people struggling with money issues afford a Financial Coach? It’s a great question! Our philosophy is that we work with people who make good money but struggle to keep it or manage it well. We offer group coaching at a reasonable rate and individual coaching that is very targeted in approach for maximum effectiveness. Making an investment in yourself by improving your financial understanding benefits you for a lifetime.
