My name is Kefilwe Rasedie and I’m the founder of Smart Wallet, a financial education company in Botswana. Our company’s vision is to transform the lives of Batswana through financial education. I am very passionate about financial education and I strongly believe that embracing this education can set people free from poverty traps.
– I help my audience to understand and appreciate the role of money in their lives
– I give my audience a sense of hope and confidence in their ability to manage their money
– I help them realize that in order to transform their lives, they need to shift from an “income-consumption” mindset to a Savings-Investment-Asset Building mindset”
I hold Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Diploma in University Teaching (DUT) from University of New Brunswick in Canada. I also graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accounting from University of Botswana. I am a Certified Financial Accountant and also recognized by Botswana Training Authority as a qualified trainer. I have acquired incredible international work experience from Canada where I worked as Tax advisor for H&R Block, KPMG Canada intern and worked for various community based organizations.
Bio
Kefilwe Rasedie is the founder of Smart Wallet, a financial education company in Botswana. Her company’s vision is to transform the lives of Batswana through financial education. Kefilwe holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Diploma in University Teaching (DUT) from University of New Brunswick in Canada. She also graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accounting from University of Botswana. Kefilwe has practically taken part in financial literacy programs as a participant and as a facilitator. In 2012, she organized the financial education facilitator’s workshop for Northwest Literacy Council in Yellowknife. She also participated in the Cridge Centre’s Asset Building Program aimed at empowering women in Victoria, British Colombia. Currently, she is very instrumental in various poverty eradication programs funded by government of Botswana to improve living conditions of citizens with little formal education. She provides the beneficiaries with relevant knowledge, skills and tools to run their businesses profitably, transforming them into successful entrepreneurs. She strongly believes that a way out of poverty is through embracing financial education to experience a shift from an “Income-consumption” mindset to a “Savings-Investment-Asset Building” mindset.
Kefilwe has acquired incredible international work experience from Canada where she worked as Tax advisor for H&R Block, KPMG Canada intern and worked for various community based organizations. She also had an opportunity to work for Raffles International Institute as a Business lecturer in Dubai, UAE and Mongolia. Kefilwe is a member of the NFEC’s Personal Finance Speakers Association and features on Maun Business Network as a speaker and advisor.
