I’ve received much gratification over the years from helping families make the best decisions for the personal finances. I realize that in some cases, one wrong decision can have a lasting affect. My passion has grown to reach a large number of people, one organization at a time. My desire is to see more American workers financial savvy and healthy. When employees are financially healthy they are more productive employees and more successful at work. Workplace financial wellness poses a win-win outcome for both the employee and the employer. I am looking forward to spreading my passion for personal financial education now and for years to come.

Bio

Joyce Rice, known for her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for community, brings over a decade of experience in consultative services to both consumers and small business owners within her career in the financial services industry. Her passion for empowering others to pursue their goals and achieve financial freedom started very early in her career as a Licensed Financial Specialist at Wachovia Bank. Joyce is the CEO of SmartBenefits Corp, a financial wellness company and helps operate Rice Insurance Services, a family owned business.

Joyce has led many workshops and seminars on topics such as budgeting, retirement planning, wealth-building, taxes and credit restoration. She received a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of NC at Greensboro and Master of Business Administration in Business Management from Strayer University.

She has also been recently designation a Certified Financial Education Instructor as she endeavors to serve the community and desires to effectively develop financial wellness benefit plans for businesses in the triad area, and greater North Carolina. Joyce is an active member of Toastmasters International, Inc. and in association with the Society of Financial Services Professionals (FSP).

Joyce’s professional success is not absent from her spiritual walk and faith. Joyce has been a member of the North Carolina Chapter of F.L.A.M.E.S. (Fierce Ladies Achieving Ministry & Entrepreneurial Success), since June, 2014, a women’s fellowship ministry, purposed to uplift and build other women from all walks of life. Joyce has served as NC spokesperson and currently NC Chapter Liaison. She demonstrates love and acceptance for all people by serving women and encouraging them to achieve success within the walls of true Sisterhood. Joyce’s success could not have come without strong a strong background in community service. She has been a member of New Jerusalem Cathedral for over 10 years, having served in capacities such as Deacon, Outreach Administrative Leader & Team Leader, Choir member, Praise & Worship Leader, as well as special planning projects. She’s driven to carry out the purpose that she believes God has ordained for her life in business, and ministry.
