Bio

Donna Bowman is an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.

I moved to College Station, TX and met my husband after graduating from high school in the Dallas area. Upon completing his degree at Texas A&M University, we decided to work in international missions, so we attended the School of World Evangelism and moved to Papua New Guinea. We learned the language of Melanesian Pidgin in order to teach literacy and help the nationals in a country of over 700 languages. Our lives as missionaries provided us with adventure, as well as, a world-wide educational experience. Returning to the states, we started our family and a successful construction/lumber business, learning how to develop a good business sense whiling managing our home grown company. My early interest in teaching was tugging at my heart, and I decided to homeschool all of our children and continued their education by establishing a private Christian school and served as temporary Administrator and teacher.

After twelve years in the same town, we decided to work with inner-city youth and moved to Marble Falls, TX. As my husband served as Executive Director of Camp of the Hills where under-privileged children learn about unconditional love and acceptance, I continued my educational endeavors as a substitute teacher, then worked in Administration in a private school my children attended.

After 36 years of being a wife and mother of four, I completed my Master’s of Education degree from West Texas A&M University. I spent my life caring for my family, homeschooling my children and helping my husband start a construction business. Now after many years of experience in the higher education financial aid world and after receiving my Financial Education Instructor Certification, it is time for me to continue my love of teaching by helping students, parents and families understand the foundations of managing money.
