Personal Statement
If you knew better, you’d do better! My name is Krystle Gladden and I’m an entrepreneur, Air Force veteran, Accountant, Tax professional, and community leader who empowers individuals to take control of their financial lives. At Financial Fluency, I place priority on four primary things when serving clients: education, inclusivity, transformation, and community. I have a real love for creating impact, and I’ve learned that genuine communication involving knowledgeable information is the way to impact people for free.
About me:
Professionally, I hold an MBA in Accounting from Mercy University. On the personal side, I value family and time spent with loved ones. I am passionate about fitness and traveling, ensuring that I find time to balance and enjoy these pursuits.
Ever since my elementary school days I have always been good at math. Before my career in Accounting started I believed that Accounting was just about being good at math, since I chose the career path due to my math skills and enjoying math. I quickly learned that Accounting wasn’t just about math and numbers, but was more about understanding what the numbers were saying and what they mean. Numbers can tell different stories about an individual’s finances as well as an organization’s position. It is important for individuals to know and understand this so that they can make better informed financial decisions. This will also allow them to improve their relationship to money. Being part of the NFEC community campaign will give me the chance to reach many individuals before it’s too late. Through this opportunity, I can help folks avoid making those money mistakes that get in the way of their dreams.
Leading this financial wellness campaign in the New York area and contributing to the New York Financial Educators Council’s Advisory Board will give me a chance to bring personal finance literacy initiatives across the tri-state area, providing guidance and education to people in socially underserved and under-represented communities. By forging partnerships and alliances with non-profit, government, and corporate sponsors, I hope to make a real, powerful difference in New York communities and in people’s lives.
