Personal Statement
Each and every time a client of ours reaches a financial milestone, it always feels like the first time to me. Being able to help people reach their credit goals brings me genuine joy day in and day out. Even as our services expand, I make sure I connect with each client on a personal basis and help them celebrate their successes.
I had my own personal woes with credit when I was younger. In 2014 I paid off $30,000 worth of debt (mostly medical bills and student loans) – but my credit score only went up 12 points. I looked around for credit assistance, but nobody I found had customer service that would give me answers to my questions, outside of questions about billing and payment for their services. I ended up researching credit and how to fix it on my own; and eventually was able to repair and rebuild my credit scores from the low 400s to the mid-700s.
While I was still employed at the only job I’ve ever had, my coworkers trusted me to help them with their credit situations as well. Seeing what I had accomplished for myself, along with the trust we had already built from working together for so long, made them willing to allow me to help them with their credit too.
Once I started to scale my business, I came to realize the importance of credit education. This is the knowledge that inspired me to start my online learning platform where I teach people about credit, taxes, and how to start a business the correct way.
I discovered the NFEC in 2018 and decided to become a Certified Financial Education Instructor. Ever since then I have been using my platform to teach financial literacy to help people avoid the financial mistakes I made early on. I also hold in-person workshops regularly at my office in downtown Cleveland and use my online community to reach people outside my area. Teaching has become my passion – and I look forward to seeing where my journey takes me.
