Personal Statement

I have always believed that financial health is an integral part of overall well-being. As a personal finance author, speaker, and financial wellness advocate, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people take control of their financial lives.

My passion for financial education stems from a personal realization – witnessing firsthand how financial stress can affect mental and physical health. Early in my career, I met families struggling under the weight of financial uncertainty, unsure how to plan for their futures. I knew that if they had access to the right knowledge and tools earlier, they could have avoided many financial pitfalls. This realization drove me to create a financial wellness consulting initiative called FinWell360™ LLC with the tagline “Financial Health Is Health,” an approach that supports individuals, the community, and organizations to develop financial health programs with actionable strategies toward financial wellness and financial resilience.

Throughout my entire career focused on financial wellness, one of the most influential moments in my journey was working with a single mother who felt trapped by debt and financial insecurity. Through structured financial coaching and education, she not only regained control over her finances but also built a sustainable plan for her family’s future. Witnessing her transformation reinforced my belief in the power of financial literacy.

My involvement with the NFEC and other financial education initiatives allows me to extend my impact beyond one-on-one coaching. I also promote financial wellness through public speaking, consulting, and authoring books – including such titles as ‘Gold Start’, ‘Budget Wise Dollar Rich’, and ‘Catalyst’ which have received global recognition. Moreover, my children’s series, ‘Money $mart’, paves the way for future generations to achieve financial literacy. In 2025 I released my latest book, ‘How I Accidentally Turned My Kids Into Financially Entitled Monsters’ – the first in a humorous series for parents on teaching children about money. I aim to make financial literacy engaging and approachable for all ages.

Being part of this financial wellness movement is more than just a professional commitment; it’s a personal mission. Financial health is health, and I am dedicated to ensuring that individuals and families have the tools they need to achieve financial peace of mind.
