As a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) through the National Financial Education Council, Tracee Adams brings both professional expertise and a global perspective to her participation on the Kansas Financial Educators Council (KSFEC) Advisory Board. Her broad approach to financial wellness education is inspired by her worldview of economics and wealth management. With more than 10 years of experience in financial services, Adams feels a deep commitment to guiding her fellow community members toward long-term financial success. She accomplishes that goal by providing Kansans with access to a comprehensive range of financial education resources, tools, and actionable strategies.

As founder and chief strategist at Hawthorn Capital LLC, a Wichita-based investment and wealth management firm, Advisory Board Member Tracee Adams remains dedicated to bringing greater financial wellness to her fellow Kansans. Tracee also is heavily involved in her community. She has actively volunteered for AARP Kansas since 2019; and serves on several nonprofit boards including the Urban League of Kansas, Junior League of Wichita, and Junior Achievement of Wichita. She is a public fiduciary of the Wichita Police & Fire Pension Fund and Joint Investment Committee, a Director of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Governor Appointed member of the Wichita State University Board of Trustees.

The KSFEC chooses its Advisory Board members based on their dedication to the financial wellness mission and their background in community service. Tracee Adams meets and exceeds these criteria across all her professional and philanthropic endeavors. Combining Global Expertise with a Passion for Community Service: Tracee Adams

A graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree, Tracee Adams holds credentials as a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) through the National Financial Educators Council; Agent Licenses in Accident Insurance, Health Insurance, and Life Insurance from the State of Kansas; and FINRA Securities Licenses 65, 63, 7, and 6. With more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, she brings a global viewpoint – shaped by her past life experiences around the world – to her participation on the KSFEC Advisory Board.

Tracee believes that, in today’s increasingly complex financial landscape, it is essential for individuals, families, and organizations alike to have a clear plan in place to achieve their most important financial goals. She founded her business enterprise, Hawthorn Capital, LLC, as a wealth management and investment firm dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. In partnership with the KSFEC, she provides Kansas residents and organizations with access to a comprehensive range of financial wellness resources.

Adams also is a passionate advocate for volunteerism and gives back to her community in multiple roles. She volunteers with Junior Achievement to teach financial literacy in the classroom to middle school youth. She is deeply involved in civic service, holding multiple leadership positions including member of the Wichita State University Board of Trustees; public fiduciary on the Wichita Police & Fire Pension Fund Board; member of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees; and serving on the Kansas Health Foundation Audit Committee. In addition, Tracee is President of the Wichita Downtown Rotary Charitable Fund Board of Directors and sits on the Junior League of Wichita Governance Board. She is Volunteer State President for AARP Kansas.

In her personal life, Tracee Adams enjoys traveling, playing chess, reading, swimming, and spending time with her two sons, grandsons, and friends. Her rich experiential background and dedication to civic engagement make her a respected, dynamic addition to the Kansas Financial Educators Council Advisory Board.
