Advisory Board Member Shangra-La Jones
Colorado Financial Educators Council
The Colorado Financial Educators Council chose Advisory Board Member Shangra-La Jones due to her education, experience, and proven devotion to community service and improving the financial health of her fellow Coloradans. She possesses two Masters degrees – one in Public Financial Management and one in Public Administration – and has held multiple high-profile roles in the financial services sphere. In addition, she has been an active presenter of top-quality financial literacy courses for both adults and youth across Colorado since 2008. Through this project, Jones also launched a series of financial education books titled “The Ultimate Financial Literacy Program.” These books introduce youth to key financial concepts they need to succeed in life.
Since 2018, Shangra-La has participated on the National Financial Educators Council’s Financial Advocacy Committee, working toward widespread school financial literacy standards, encouraging parental engagement in children’s financial education, and providing high-impact financial wellness programs at the community level. Her clear commitment to spreading greater financial literacy across Colorado communities makes her a natural selection for the COFEC Advisory Board. The Council looks forward to a mutually productive collaboration with Shangra-La Jones for years to come.
