With an MBA in Strategic Leadership, a BA in Psychology and Philosophy, and credentials as a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) from the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC), Advisory Board Member Kristina Ickes has broadened her professional mission to focus her efforts on expanding access to financial education within her local community and throughout New Hampshire. Her commitment to improving financial literacy and empowering individuals to make informed money decisions strongly supports the mission of the New Hampshire Council Board and its parent organization, the NFEC.
Ickes currently is a government and finance executive with more than two decades of experience spanning public policy, capital markets, and community financial education. She is uniquely positioned to take a founding role on the NHFEC Advisory Board, who select their candidates based on their commitment to service and genuine desire to uplift others. The New Hampshire Financial Educators Council looks forward to partnering with Kristina as we continue expanding financial wellness efforts throughout the Granite State and beyond.


Helping New Hampshirites Navigate Financial Challenges With Confidence: Kristina Ickes
Kristina Ickes holds a dual BA in Psychology and Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude) and an MBA in Strategic Leadership, and has served as Chief Information Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director of a capital management firm, and Senior Financial Advisor with UBS and Merrill Lynch. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®) and former Certified Special Needs Advisor, and has held Series 7/66 and multi-state insurance licenses. Kristina currently oversees statewide programs for New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services and served as an elected School Board member and Chair/Vice Chair of NH SAU 15, representing the communities of Candia, Hooksett, and Auburn. She is also a sought-after keynote speaker and panelist on financial education and planning, contributing her expertise at both community and professional levels.
Kristina’s mission is to expand access to high-quality, practical financial literacy resources and education that empower individuals to make informed, confident financial decisions. She believes financial knowledge is most effective when grounded in clarity, real-world application, and accessible tools that help people understand not only what to do, but why it matters to their long-term well-being. Her approach emphasizes informed choice, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate financial challenges with confidence.
Through her volunteer work with Dave Ramsey programs, the Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE), and her financial planning firm, Kristina has delivered community-centered education rooted in behavioral science and real-world financial strategy. She has taught audiences ranging from students to professionals, with a focus on helping people break through confusion, gain confidence, and take practical steps that support financial resilience. She is committed to helping individuals strengthen decision-making skills, build true financial capability, and secure long-term financial stability.
