Changing How Our Country Tackles Financial Empowerment of Its Citizens

Lack of financial security, debt, inflation, and poverty are just a few of the financial challenges plaguing people across the nation. These problems can have devastating effects on a person’s emotional state, relationships, and hope to get ahead.

The financial situation into which a person is born can have a huge impact on his or her financial stability later in life. But being born into wealth shouldn’t be the only way to achieve the American Dream.

We’re changing the narrative around who gets ahead.

Mission: Make a Lasting Difference in People’s Lives Using a 3-Pronged Approach

Our mission is to build sustainable, expanding economic empowerment programming that makes a difference in the financial lives of community citizens. We accomplish this mission by:

Access. Increase access and use of educational-grade financial literacy resources and program management processes that produce measurable results.

Relationships. Mobilize, empower, and lead key stakeholders to increase use of resources and develop a sustainable community initiative.

Awareness. Raise awareness and promote financial literacy on a community level through advertising, public relations, and advocacy campaigns.

Creating Nationwide Change from the Grassroots Up

The NFEC is uniquely positioned to lead the charge to spread greater financial wellness. As an IACET Accredited education provider and a Certified B Corporation, we have conducted successful financial literacy initiatives at the national level since 2006. Now we’re going back to the grassroots – taking what’s proven to work nationally and sharing those resources and processes at the local level.

Here’s what we’ve achieved so far:

  • Created the largest financial literacy resource library among Accredited companies for all ages.
  • Developed the leading National Standards for Financial Educators and Learners.
  • Become recognized as a top brand in financial literacy from a digital presence and media perspective.
  • Trained and mobilized over 4,000 financial educators from every US state.

Application of Our Experience Community by Community

We are taking what we have done successfully on a national level and sharing the processes, resources, and information to conduct successful campaigns locally.

Access

The NFEC supplies comprehensive financial education resources and provides training and support to help programs become sustainable. With the largest library of financial literacy resources among Accredited companies, we boast:

Resources serving all ages, all socioeconomic levels, and most life stages.

Multi-method learning: presentations, online, mobile, and educational promotions.

Training for facilitators: educators, workshop leaders, and other partner roles.

Real financial education built on research-based educational principles that has served 1M+ individuals.

Awareness

Great resources and infrastructure does little if people don’t know about the campaign. The NFEC conducts high-profile launch campaigns and leads ongoing advertising, PR, and promotions to let the masses know.

Online Marketing: We leverage our national expertise, which includes over 300 keywords in the top page of Google searches and 75,000 monthly page views, for our community initiatives.

Advertising & Marketing: Ongoing targeted advertising campaigns let various stakeholders know about the campaign and encourage their participation.

Public Relations & Promotions: We take national advocacy campaigns (featured in USA Today, Marketwatch, CNBC, TIME, Yahoo Finance, NASDAQ and hundreds of other publications) to local media outlets.

Relationships

We mobilize and develop community champions and empower them with the resources, knowledge, and processes they need to help their communities’ citizens work toward financial self-sufficiency and security. We build relationships with:
