Unbroken – the Sheridan, Wyoming company founded in 2018 – was built on a simple mission: to empower individuals to make better financial decisions aligned with purpose. To realize this vision, the organization distributes financial wellness resources to beneficiaries across the state and helps raise awareness about the vital need for financial literacy education.
Led by its founder, Aaron Cruz, this organization partners with community leaders and groups to enhance the reach of high-quality financial education across the Equality State. By providing comprehensive, practical financial tools, Unbroken has a lasting impact on the lives of Wyomingites and makes their communities stronger – displaying the company’s true colors as a community champion.
Company History
Founded in 2018, Unbroken operates within the financial education and empowerment field, focusing on bridging financial literacy with long-term behavioral change. Through partnerships with treatment centers and recovery programs, Unbroken delivers interactive workshops (Broken-for-Change) and one-on-one coaching (Hands-on-Change) that help participants master the fundamentals of budgeting, debt reduction, saving, and long-term planning. Each program is designed to meet people where they are – emphasizing real-life application.
In addition to leading Unbroken, Aaron Cruz serves as a partner in a long-established financial consulting practice that has provided holistic planning strategies to individuals, families, and businesses for more than 15 years. In that capacity, he helps clients create living financial plans – dynamic strategies that evolve along with life’s goals. His advisory experience includes comprehensive planning across retirement readiness, investment management, tax coordination, insurance analysis, and legacy design.
Together, these dual perspectives reflect a holistic approach to financial wellness. On one hand, Unbroken empowers underserved and recovery communities with practical, values-based training. On the other hand, Aaron’s professional background brings practical depth – connecting education with strategies that actually work in the real world.
Since 2018, Unbroken has shared the National Financial Educators Council’s mission to improve financial capability nationwide. Through Aaron Cruz’s seven years as an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®), our programs have been developed in alignment with the organization’s national standards and its Financial Wellness Campaign. In 2025, Unbroken strengthened this partnership through Aaron’s appointment to the Wyoming chapter of the NFEC Advisory Board.
Unbroken upholds NFEC’s standards of ethics and education, delivering programs that build both confidence and capability through participant-centered learning – connecting financial education with professional planning expertise to expand financial literacy nationwide.
