Top 5 critiques of the course in the past and how we resolved those issues:

Accredited Personal Financial Wellness Consultant℠ Requirements
Student Comments How We Resolved It
Lacked areas in the training manual to add notes. We created a comprehensive course manual that consolidates all lessons and leaves room for student notes.
It was challenging to locate specific training resources. A full platform update occurred in 2025 that provided streamlined navigation, easy course progress, and added walkthrough videos.
Desire for more personal support. In addition to existing weekly live training sessions, email, and chat support, we introduced onboarding calls, daily support calls, and a personal consultation call upon graduation.
Request for more videos and diverse training formats. In 2025, we added over 89 new training videos in a variety of formats to engage different learning styles and keep the content dynamic.
Need for more real-world examples to apply in teaching. Every chapter now includes expanded case studies, sample activities, and practical applications to help instructors bring lessons to life.

Bottom Line: We value student feedback and use it to continually improve the CFEI® program – making the training stronger with every cohort.

The NFEC Certified Educator Instructor program is amazing! While it is thorough, it is also very practical. The program helps you with content knowledge, helps you to understand why and what you are doing, and definitely teaches you how to serve and teach others with financial education and financial literacy. I am half way through the course, and looking forward to completing the program.

My experience was five stars because the program is well laid out and the information is transparent from the beginning. It provides daily calls that any trainee and or graduate can access at any time. This program is the best professional certification program I have ever taken part of. And the price is right!

With over 30 years of teaching experience, I must say that this course is one of the most comprehensive I have taken. It provides coverage not only of core personal finance topics, but also current pedagogy and proven educational methods. NFEC has developed a wealth of effective tools and resources for use by instructors implementing personal finance education programs. I was impressed with the variety and quality of instructional materials including customizable student handouts as well as the turnkey financial education packages and ongoing resources and support for certified instructors. The depth of materials, training, and knowledge are extraordinary. This is the best training in decades. Plan on going slow, or you’re going to miss some very valuable content.

Duane Holt

The program was much better than I anticipated. It is both user-friendly and thought-provoking if a student wants to take a deeper dive. A few modules touch on higher-level educational theory that I will incorporate into my practice.

As a Financial Advisor I wanted to reach out to more people and start educating them on Financial Literacy. I thought the most effective way to do this would be to create an On-line course. As I started to create the course, I stumbled on the Certification program at NFEC on obtaining your Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) credentials. I signed up immediately and was impressed from the very first Module. The further I got into the training course, I realized this was exactly what I needed to make my course more credible. This course offers you all the tools, knowledge and professionalism you will need, to stand out in the pool of Financial Educators.
