Paul Lawrence Vann, The Chief of Personal Finance, is a personal finance expert, international speaker, television, radio, podcast personality, and the author of six books, including two number one international best-selling books. He is the recipient of District 27 Toastmasters Leadership and Communications award. Paul is a certified financial manager from the United States Air Force (USAF) and was a financial analyst for Mobil Oil Company in Texas. Today he teaches individuals nationwide how to effectively manage their personal finances. He has appeared on hundreds of radio shows, television programs Paul has appeared on including The Mind Over Money Show, hosted by CBS, Washington, DC, and Fox 54, Baltimore, MD. Dr. Maya Angelou interviewed Paul on Oprah Radio, it is his most memorable interview. Paul retired from the United States Air Force in the rank of lieutenant colonel and he is a highly decorated military officer. Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Business Management, from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Science degree in Acquisitions from Florida Institute of Technology. Paul is a native of Henderson, North Carolina, and lives in Maryland with his family, he is the proud father of two teenagers.

In 2021, Paul launched a digital online platform, Mind Over Money Mindset with a focus on financial fitness.
