Michael Shafer
Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

Personal Notes
I have spent the majority of my professional career in churches. As a pastor, I have the privilege of caring for people who are hurting. One of the most common challenges I have encountered over the years is personal finance. Poor decisions, lack of discipline, and succumbing to temptation have left so many people hurt and broken with no idea how to pick up the pieces. Your future self deserves better. It is my goal to help you get the financial future you are worth. Let’s work together to make it happen!
Bio
As a student of learning, Michael has achieved an extremely high honor of receiving a PhD from world-renowned Durham University in the North of England. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Michael has worked in the nonprofit sector, mostly as a pastor, for over 20 years. In that time, he has had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals and families experience personal, professional, and spiritual growth. In 2018, he and his wife, Whitney, started their own nonprofit called G6 Allies, with a mission to carry the burdens of other pastors and their families. He develops and teaches courses, workshops, and private coaching to help pastors be the healthy leader their people need. One of the biggest challenges facing today’s church leaders is financial unhealth. As an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®), Michael teaches an effective system for applying his financial health cycle to anyone’s personal finances to get them on track for the financial future they are worth. He is the author of The Worth More Method: How Pastors Can Experience the Financial Future They Deserve. He also leads a personal investing network called Tentmakers, that teaches pastors how to actively invest their money to supplement their primary income.
