Financial Education Speakers Needed

An essential part of National Financial Capability Strategy is to build a nationwide infrastructure of financial education speakers who can give high-quality presentations that meet the needs of a wide range of organizations and groups. Toward building this infrastructure, the NFEC has developed the first national speakers association for financial educators and advocates – the Personal Finance Speakers Association – and is working in communities across the country to mobilize a team of talented speakers.

Volunteer Financial Education Speaker Opportunities

Financial professionals, educators, and concerned citizens: we are asking for your participation. Our speakers form the backbone of our community initiatives. We need speakers to participate in financial education presentations to schools, businesses, and a variety of other organizations.

To ensure that we can continue to provide workshops that serve people of all ages and backgrounds, we are expanding our base of people with a desire to conduct financial education workshops in their local communities.

Resources Provided Complimentary

All resources are provided complimentary. All our financial education speakers receive the presentation materials (instructors guide, PowerPoint, student guides) and any other necessary resources for the event at no cost. The NFEC also works with compliance departments that must approve materials prior to presentation delivery.

The NFEC supports its volunteers by providing a variety of events and promotions. Once you register, you will be invited to attend complimentary webinar presentations to help you build skill as a presenter (your participation in these events is optional). In April, we also recognize each volunteer who takes part in an NFEC event with a Financial Educators Day award.

Volunteer vs Paid Opportunities

The NFEC works with people of all abilities – from novice to expert – who have a passion for personal finance advocacy and teaching financial literacy. The Personal Finance Speakers Association gives its members benefits to help them increase exposure and build a professional résumé.

Volunteer Opportunities. For our Volunteer Speakers, the only qualification is having a passion for helping others improve their financial capabilities. Volunteers deliver complimentary workshops to various organizations that contact the NFEC for support. The NFEC pays no compensation for these speaking opportunities; however, your efforts are highly valued and appreciated.

Paid Opportunities. The NFEC also has a need for experts from a variety of backgrounds to serve our clients, participate in larger initiatives, and fulfill individual speaking requests we receive. Paid opportunities are reserved for Industry Experts & Professional Speakers, Influencers & Keynote Speakers, Certified Financial Education Instructors, Celebrities, Athletes & Dignitaries. For those who seek paid speaking opportunities, we encourage you to submit an application – click here to apply now.

NFEC Celebrity speaker Brandon Lloyd featured on Yahoo Sports Program

The All-Pro NFL wide receiver for the New England Patriots brings his passion for helping today’s youth to support the financial literacy movement. Lloyd personally visited Lowell High School in Massachusetts as part of the Money XLive Ambassador program to encourage students to work hard, follow their passions and to teach personal finance topics. Yahoo Sports featured a 4 minute video of this visit and this helped to generate over 1,000,000 impressions that promoted financial education.

Speaking Opportunity Protocol

We value your participation as a Volunteer Presenter and we have an infrastructure in place that ensures a smooth process to connect you with appropriate speaking opportunities. Your first step is to register on this webpage to start the process.

After you register, you will be notified via email about speaking opportunities in your community. Simply review each email we send and, if you choose to speak at the event, just email us back. Only respond to those opportunities you are interested in taking. You are not obligated to do any of the speaking events; however, your participation is greatly appreciated.

If you are selected for a speaking opportunity, we will provide all the details you need for the event and will be here to support you throughout the process. All the necessary presentations and materials are provided complimentary.

Financial Education Speakers Make Lasting Impact

Financial Education Speakers Needed

People who have a passion for improving the lives of others should consider applying for membership in the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC)’s group of financial education speakers. This speakers’ bureau is the first national organization to provide speakers who are trained and qualified to present financial education topics.

The NFEC is an independent, for-profit organization dedicated to building financial competencies. They have a vested interest in building membership in their Personal Finance Speakers Association and in promoting those members to gain speaking engagements around the country. Members of the PFSA are required to graduate the NFEC’s certified financial education instructor training coursework. Membership in the PFSA is automatic for all graduates.

To ensure the qualifications and credibility of PFSA members, the NFEC has established National Financial Educator Standards defining the requisite knowledge and skill sets to teach financial education. This set of standards provides the framework within which financial education services must be evaluated, specifying the criteria for areas where instructors must demonstrate competence in order to receive certification. The standards ensure that financial educators who graduate the NFEC’s training are capable to deliver effective personal finance education lessons and presentations.

PFSA membership has many benefits for the speakers too. The NFEC promotes all their speakers, handles booking and serves as liaison with clients. The organization offers marketing tools, press releases and kits, and provides speakers with a page on a promotional website. The NFEC is committed to helping PFSA members achieve individual success while spreading the financial literacy message.

The NFEC is seeking passionate individuals who have the desire to obtain the skill sets they need to begin making lasting impact on the lives of the people they reach. Anyone who cares about people has potential to undergo the certification training and become an esteemed member of the PFSA.
