Breaking Barriers – College & Career Workshop with CFEI Maurice Shabazz of Prodigy University and Janelle Bownes of S.M.A.R.T.

The workshop will cover the college application process, responsibility with social media covered by Janelle Bownes from S.M.A.R.T., and financial literacy and consumer credit covered by Maurice Shabazz from Prodigy University. Representatives from Delta College and Stanislaus State will speak at the event. Recommended for ages 13 and older.

Bio

Maurice A. Shabazz has been working in personal and business finance since 1999. In 2009, he founded the company E-Fix Credit, Inc., located in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. In 2010, the non-profit organization Prodigy was founded and designed as a financial resource center for all age groups. Prodigy’s main headquarters is located in Stockton, California. Maurice is a Certified Credit Counselor, Student Loan Specialist, Debt Arbitrator, FICO Certified, and and NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.
