I have received constant e-mails – the buzz seems to be growing instead of slowing down. The kids are still so excited it is unreal. They got a lot from the event and its motivating them in the class according to some of the teachers. I love it that the community I have lived in for so long has been so blessed by all of this. Thank you so much for all you do; what you have put together is great.
We chose to provide the NFEC curriculum because it balances practical application with core educational standards. The lessons are engaging, making it enjoyable for teachers and students alike. We also liked that it incorporates a comprehensive educator training program to empower those delivering the information with the tools to maximize the effectiveness of the coursework.
We just received the Financial Literacy Event Report. This is fantastic! We can easily show our board how much students learned. We’ve just begun planning our summer conference, and would like to offer the scholars your amazing financial workshop. Thank you again! I can’t wait to share this.
Every parent wants best for their kid, so teach them about money because it impacts their wellbeing, emotional health and overall health. It allows them to live out their dream and be successful, it’s the biggest important lesson parents can pass on to their kids.
Working with the NFEC was an excellent opportunity for us to learn and perfect our implementation strategies for our outreach program. Receiving the training and becoming Certified has given the program the extra boost and noteworthiness. Since our certification has become public, we’ve received several calls from community organizations and summer camps interested in our financial education program.
The program is going wonderfully. Kelly is doing an awesome job and our clients have been very receptive of the information and her presentation. Thanks again, the presentation went GREAT, we will be talking with you soon.
National Financial Educators Council Builds Financial Literacy Programs for Economic Recovery
In 2008 the U.S. economy crashed, launching a global economic crisis the likes of which—according to some economists—had not been witnessed since the Great Depression. While recovery slowly proceeds, people across the U.S. and worldwide still face epic financial struggles. Never has the need for financial literacy education been higher. But there’s good news: the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC) has a broad range of programs, services, and resources available to address this need and bring the financial literacy message to communities around the globe.
The NFEC is an independent company with social enterprise objectives. The organization has designed and/or reviewed more than a thousand financial education programs; thus their team of experts has identified the absolute best practices for teaching financial literacy. The financial literacy curriculum packages designed as a result of this research offer turnkey solutions to teach personal finance effectively to groups of all ages and backgrounds. These state-of-the-art financial literacy resources may be tailored to fit any format or class schedule.
Not only are the NFEC curriculum programs effective and aligned with core educational standards. They also present the materials using engaging games and practical activities designed to bridge the gap between theory-based financial literacy education and real-life applicability. Schools and community leaders can leverage the NFEC’s courses and other resources to build comprehensive financial literacy campaigns that truly have positive impact on the lives of kids, college students, adults, and the whole community.
These curriculum courses were developed in tandem with the respected group of financial professionals, educators, and financial education experts that comprises the NFEC’s Curriculum Advisory Board. In total the NFEC has more than 80 financial literacy assets that are available to both individuals and organizations. From single lesson plans to workshops to full-scale campaigns, the NFEC has a financial literacy package to meet a wide variety of philanthropic objectives.
For people who want to gain the knowledge and credibility to teach financial literacy, the NFEC also has a highly-respected certification program. The Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) course prepares graduates to present the financial literacy curriculum effectively and with confidence. The CFEI coursework has recently been expanded to include a comprehensive research guide that covers best strategies for teaching financial literacy, with statistics to back them up.
Every instructor certified under the CFEI coursework automatically becomes a member of the NFEC’s Personal Finance Speakers Association (PFSA), the first national speakers’ bureau dedicated to financial literacy topics. The PFSA provides educators and advocates with an avenue for promoting financial literacy programs. Groups around the world can find a financial literacy speaker from among the ranks of this speakers’ association to meet their unique presentation needs.
The NFEC develops promotions, resources and provides financial education services. Over financial literacy month we host our Financial Educators Dave event to recognize financial educators and advocates. programming to and financial literacy events – the NFEC is a resource provider with over 80 educational and promotional to serve you.
